The Teamsters Union is proud to recognize Autism Awareness Month, a time dedicated to increasing understanding, acceptance, and inclusion of people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

As a union committed to supporting all of its members, the Teamsters understand the importance of creating a workplace and a world that is welcoming and accommodating for everyone, including those with ASD.

Autism is a developmental disorder that affects how a person perceives the world and interacts with others. It is estimated that about 1 in 54 children in the United States is diagnosed with ASD, making it one of the most prevalent developmental disorders.

During Autism Awareness Month, the Teamsters Union encourages its members to learn more about autism and how they can support individuals with ASD in their communities and workplaces. This includes promoting understanding and acceptance, advocating for inclusive policies and practices, and providing support to individuals and families affected by autism.

By recognizing Autism Awareness Month, the Teamsters Union reaffirms its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and its dedication to creating a more inclusive and accepting society for all.
